I photograph machines the way portrait photographers photograph people — slowly, in low light, waiting for the one angle where the thing stops being an object and starts having a temperament. Most of my work is motorcycles, automotive design and museum collections.

Everything is shot on medium format. The files are enormous and the pace is slow, and both are the point: this work is meant for print and for screens bigger than a phone.
